Amazon EC2 R8i and R8i-flex instances are now available in the AWS GovCloud (US-West) Region. Powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors, these memory-optimized instances offer up to 15% better price-performance and 2.5x more memory bandwidth than previous-generation Intel-based instances. They deliver 20% higher performance than R7i instances, with notable gains for PostgreSQL (up to 30% faster), NGINX (up to 60% faster), and AI deep learning recommendation models (up to 40% faster). R8i-flex instances are designed for workloads that don't fully utilize all compute resources, while R8i instances support up to 13 sizes including bare metal and a new 96xlarge size. R8i instances are also SAP-certified, delivering 142,100 aSAPS for mission-critical SAP workloads.
