Amazon EC2 M8i and M8i-flex instances are now available in the AWS GovCloud (US-West) region. Powered by custom Intel Xeon 6 processors, these instances offer up to 15% better price-performance and 2.5x more memory bandwidth than previous-generation Intel-based instances. Compared to M7i/M7i-flex, they deliver up to 20% better general performance, up to 30% faster PostgreSQL, 60% faster NGINX, and 40% faster AI deep learning recommendation workloads. M8i-flex targets general-purpose workloads in sizes from large to 16xlarge, while M8i supports up to 96xlarge and bare metal sizes for SAP-certified and high-CPU workloads.
