AWS has expanded availability of Amazon EC2 I7ie instances to seven additional regions: Asia Pacific (Hong Kong, Seoul, Melbourne, Thailand), Europe (Zurich, Milan), and Mexico (Central). These storage-optimized instances are powered by 5th Gen Intel Xeon Processors at 3.2 GHz all-core turbo, offering up to 40% better compute performance and 20% better price performance versus I3en instances. Key specs include up to 120TB local NVMe storage, up to twice the vCPUs and memory of prior-gen instances, 65% better real-time storage performance, 50% lower storage I/O latency, and 65% lower latency variability thanks to 3rd-gen AWS Nitro SSDs. Available in 9 virtual sizes with up to 100Gbps network bandwidth and 60Gbps EBS bandwidth.
