Amazon EC2 Capacity Manager now supports tag-based dimensions, allowing users to group and filter capacity metrics using tags from EC2 resources. Up to five custom tag keys (e.g., environment, team, cost-center) can be activated alongside built-in dimensions like Region, Instance Type, and Availability Zone. Four Capacity Manager-provided tags are included by default (EC2 Auto Scaling group name, EKS cluster name, EKS Kubernetes node pool, Karpenter node pool). A new Account Name built-in dimension simplifies cross-account capacity analysis. Tag data can also be exported as additional columns in S3 data exports. The feature is available in all AWS Regions where EC2 Capacity Manager is supported.
