Amazon Cognito identity pools now support AWS PrivateLink, allowing secure exchange of federated identities for AWS credentials through private VPC connectivity instead of routing over the public internet. Identity pools map authenticated and guest identities to IAM roles and provide temporary AWS credentials through this secure private connection. The feature is available in all AWS Regions where Cognito identity pools exist, except AWS China (Beijing) and AWS GovCloud (US). You can create VPC endpoints using the AWS Management Console, CLI, SDKs, CDK, or CloudFormation, though additional PrivateLink charges apply.
