Amazon CloudWatch Logs has expanded its Infrequent Access (Logs IA) ingestion class with three new capabilities: OpenSearch PPL (Piped Processing Language), OpenSearch SQL for advanced analytics queries, and data protection for automatic detection and masking of sensitive information. Logs IA is a cost-effective tier designed for logs queried occasionally, such as forensic investigations. These additions make it easier to run flexible analytics and meet security/compliance requirements while keeping costs lower than the Standard log class.
