Amazon Bedrock now offers a 1-hour time-to-live option for prompt caching on select Anthropic Claude models (Sonnet 4.5, Haiku 4.5, and Opus 4.5), extending the previous 5-minute default. This enhancement improves cost efficiency and performance for long-running agentic workflows, multi-turn conversations, and batch processing by maintaining context for extended periods. The feature is available in all commercial AWS Regions and AWS GovCloud where these models are supported, with different billing rates than the standard 5-minute cache.
