Amazon Athena now provides managed connectors for 12 data sources including DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Snowflake. These connectors are AWS Glue Data Catalog federated connectors that Athena creates and manages automatically, eliminating the need to deploy or maintain connector resources in your own AWS account. Users simply create a connection in Athena, which registers the data source as a federated catalog in AWS Glue Data Catalog, enabling cross-source queries alongside S3 data with optional fine-grained access controls via AWS Lake Formation. Available in all standard AWS Regions.
