Patrick Darling, a 32-year-old musician diagnosed with ALS, lost his ability to sing and speak. Using ElevenLabs' AI voice cloning technology, he recreated his voice from old recordings and composed new music using their AI music generator. After two years away from performing, he returned to the stage with his former bandmates to perform a song using his AI-generated voice. ElevenLabs offers free licenses through an impact program for people who have lost their voices to diseases like ALS, enabling them to communicate and create again.
