AlmaLinux OS Kitten 10 is adding back i686 user-space packages that Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 dropped. While no 32-bit install images will be provided, the move restores support for software that ships only as i686, CI pipelines requiring 32-bit glibc, and containers targeting linux/386. Vendors like Arista, which relies on i686 packages alongside x86_64 for their EOS tooling, are cited as a key motivation. These packages will eventually flow into stable AlmaLinux 10 releases.
