AlmaLinux has released both AlmaLinux OS 9.8 and 10.2, tracking the upstream RHEL 10.2 release. AlmaLinux 10.2 adds KVM for IBM POWER (promoted from tech preview), re-enables frame pointers by default for system-wide profiling, restores SPICE support, ships Firefox and Thunderbird as regular RPMs, and re-adds a broad set of older storage and networking drivers (Adaptec, Dell PERC, HP, Mellanox, QLogic, and others) that upstream RHEL had removed. AlmaLinux 10 continues to differentiate itself from RHEL by offering Btrfs filesystem support, x86_64-v2 builds for older hardware, and i686 user-space packages for legacy 32-bit software.
