Akamai announced that it is picking up the hosting of kernel.org, the main distribution system for Linux kernel development.

Akamai has signed a multiyear agreement with the Linux Kernel Organization to host kernel.org and provide infrastructure services for Linux developers. The company also launched Akamai Cloud Inference for AI applications using RTX 40-series GPUs and is partnering with Fermyon to enhance AI workloads using serverless WebAssembly. Additionally, Akamai is expanding its cloud computing services, leveraging its Linode Kubernetes Engine and other specialized services.
