AIA v1.1.0 is a Ruby-based command-line AI assistant that introduces two new features: Skills and Roles. Skills encode reusable process knowledge (security reviews, debugging checklists, incident response) as SKILL.md files in a directory structure, composable and shareable via git. Roles are Markdown persona definitions that give the AI a consistent personality and interaction style across an entire chat session. The two features are orthogonal and combinable — Skills define how the AI works, Roles define how it engages. The release also supports integration with Claude Code's skills directory and includes a detailed example pirate persona (Jolly Roger) to illustrate richly-defined roles.
