Ramp Labs integrated Claude Code into RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 to experiment with broadly scoped AI agents in a business simulation environment. They forked OpenRCT2, built a comprehensive CLI (rctctl) for game control, and embedded Claude in a terminal window. Claude excels at analyzing metrics, adjusting configurations, and placing simple amenities, but struggles with spatial reasoning tasks like pathways and rollercoaster placement. The project was built using multiple coding agents over 40 hours, revealing that environment legibility and interface quality are the primary limiting factors for general-purpose agents, not intelligence itself.
