I’ve been working on my own indie game, fully funded by myself, for the past three years. I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars hiring animators, but I use AI art for some background art. I create all the art for characters, weapons, items, terrain, etc, myself. I create all the music myself.
To think that some hiveminded idiots online will trash my game that I’ve poured myself into for years just because I use AI art is heartbreaking and extremely demoralizing. I literally cannot afford to pay whoever these idiots think I need to be paying. My game would not exist without AI assisted coding and AI generated art.
To be honest, this anti-AI-art fad feels extremely narrow-minded and unempathetic to the realities of indie dev.
