Airbyte has launched Airbyte Agents, a new service built around a "Context Store" that pre-indexes business data from sources like Salesforce, Zendesk, Jira, and Slack. Instead of having AI agents make multiple live API calls at runtime, the Context Store provides a single unified index, reducing typical agent tasks from five or six API calls to one or two and cutting token usage. Access is available via an MCP server (compatible with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor) or an Agent SDK for programmatic control. The launch also includes Automations, a no-code visual builder for agentic workflows. Airbyte enters a competitive space alongside Composio, Zapier, Fivetran, and vertically integrated platforms like Salesforce Agentforce, positioning itself as a vendor-neutral data layer for teams building AI agents.
