DX's Q1 2026 preview data shows AI-generated merged code has risen slightly from 22% to 27.4% across 500+ organizations, hovering near the 30% mark. Daily AI users saw the biggest jump (24.1% to 30.8%), while weekly and monthly users showed smaller gains. The relative stability is attributed not to a plateau in model capability—late 2025 saw significant model improvements—but to teams not yet having adapted their workflows to leverage newer tools. A full Q1 AI Impact Report is forthcoming, which will also introduce telemetry-based tracking of AI-generated code from version control systems.
