Codeium, an AI-powered coding startup, is reportedly raising new funding at a $2.85 billion valuation. The funding round is led by Kleiner Perkins, a returning investor. Six months prior, Codeium raised $150 million at a $1.25 billion valuation. Codeium focuses on enterprise customers and claims to have 1,000 using its free tier. They recently launched Windsurfer Editor, which can write code without human involvement. Codeium competes with companies such as Anysphere, Poolside, Magic, and Microsoft’s GitHub Copilot.
