Crafting, a San Francisco startup founded by ex-Google, Meta, Uber, and Discord engineers, has launched Crafting for Agents and announced a $5.5M seed round. The platform gives AI coding agents access to production-like environments with real dependencies, credentials, and infrastructure — addressing the gap between code generation and actually shipping that code in enterprise settings. Rather than sandboxes, Crafting mirrors each customer's network topology and Kubernetes setup, with hands-on onboarding. Early customers include Brex, Faire, and Webflow, with adoption strongest in fintech and regulated industries. Teams using the platform report shipping 25% more pull requests quarter over quarter and saving 2.5 hours per week on environment setup. The longer-term vision is an 'operating system for agents' — a general infrastructure layer for enterprise AI agents.
