zclaw is an open-source project that turns an ESP32 into a personal AI assistant backed by Anthropic, OpenAI, or OpenRouter. Fitting in just 888KB, it uses an RTOS for task scheduling, persists memory across reboots, and lets users control or monitor GPIO-connected devices via Telegram. Users can schedule tasks in natural language, define up to 8 custom tools, and query the device about its current schedules. It targets use cases like lab automation, plant watering, and sensor monitoring that standard chatbots handle poorly.
