AI Engineer (+26.6%) and ML Engineer (+18.8%) saw strong growth, while UX/UI Designer surged 45.9% and Game Developer jumped 39%. Software Engineer and Developer roles remain dominant in absolute numbers (~72K and ~53K openings). Despite media narratives about AI eliminating developer jobs, FRED data shows software job postings are actually growing in early 2026. Data Analyst was the only role showing a notable decline (-4.7%). Blockchain Developer postings bounced back +70.9% after a similar-sized drop in January.
