AI agent sprawl is a growing problem: 96% of enterprises run agents in production, but only 12% have centralized management. The post argues that IaC platforms like Pulumi already provide the seven things agents need for governance: a context lake (Pulumi state), pre-cleared integrations (ESC with OIDC dynamic credentials), governed actions (Pulumi Deployments), deterministic policy (Pulumi Policies), audit trails, review processes, and human-in-the-loop approvals. Rather than building new scaffolding, platform teams should route agent changes through the same IaC substrate already used for human changes, making the governed path the easiest path for developers.
