Agent Mode: Project Padawan

GitHub is developing Project Padawan, an agent-based feature that allows developers to assign GitHub issues directly to Copilot for autonomous resolution. The AI agent works in the background through GitHub Actions, creating pull requests, running tests, and implementing code changes without requiring constant developer supervision. Developers can review and iterate on the agent's work through standard code review processes, while the agent handles tasks like file analysis, code implementation, and test updates. The system supports MCP integration and customizable instructions similar to VS Code's Copilot features.
