Salesforce is integrating Agent Fabric with Informatica's Cloud Data Governance & Catalog (CDGC) to create the Agent Fabric Context Catalog — a unified governance control plane for autonomous AI agents. The core problem addressed is the governance gap created when agents dynamically invoke APIs, retrieve context via MCP servers, and interact with data sources at runtime, making traditional static compliance tools inadequate. The solution establishes end-to-end lineage from agent execution through MCP servers, APIs, and down to enterprise datasets. MuleSoft's runtime configuration provides deterministic API-to-dataset bindings, while external APIs use confidence-scored semantic inference. Low-confidence mappings are routed to human reviewers, whose corrections feed back into the system. The platform also enables gateway-level tracing to reconstruct specific execution paths, enabling proactive governance enforcement before responses reach users rather than after incidents occur.
