Microsoft is developing a native Feature Flags page in Windows Settings, potentially making third-party tools like ViveTool obsolete. Feature flags are switches that control which users have access to specific features, commonly used for A/B testing. Windows Insiders have long been frustrated by Microsoft arbitrarily locking features behind these flags even in bleeding-edge channels. ViveTool emerged as a workaround to manually enable hidden features. The new Settings page was spotted in a recent Insider build, and Microsoft has also announced it will stop using controlled feature rollouts in the Beta channel, signaling a more transparent approach to Windows feature testing.
