Affinity going free after Canva's acquisition has satisfied many Adobe users, but Linux users and those wary of potential future paywalls still need alternatives. Three open-source tools cover the same ground: Pinta for raster/photo editing, Graphite (a browser-based PWA) for vector work, and Scribus for desktop publishing and print layout. Each replaces a specific Affinity workspace without requiring an account or trusting a company's 'free forever' promise.
