Advanced Mac Substitute is an API-level reimplementation of 1980s Mac OS that runs 68K Mac applications without requiring Apple ROMs or original system software. Unlike traditional hardware emulators, it replaces the OS itself, launching directly into applications with no startup phase. The backend includes a 68K processor emulator that runs on any POSIX-like system, while the frontend uses SDL2 with additional support for macOS, X11, and Linux framebuffer. It can run several original 1984 Macintosh applications including games like Amazing, Solitaire, Missile, and IAGO.
