The Verge Adobe is finally launching its own AI image generator. The company is announcing a ‘family of creative generative AI models’ today called Adobe Firefly and releasing the first two tools that take advantage of them. At launch, Adobe is calling Firefly a beta, and it’ll only be available through a website.

Wow! Only 3 months late to the party adobe! Can’t wait to spend $900 on something that is largely available open source!

It’s really weird to see creativity become censored in this way. I’d prefer to see more support for Stable Diffusion and open source models in software rather than this constant struggle to lock everything behind a gate and choose what artists are allowed to imagine.
