Adobe has launched the Firefly AI Assistant, a conversational agent that orchestrates multi-step creative tasks across Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Illustrator, Express, and Frame.io using natural language. Previously codenamed Project Moonlight, it enters public beta in coming weeks and integrates with third-party AI models including Anthropic's Claude, Google, OpenAI, Runway, and others. The assistant maintains context across sessions and aims to collapse multi-application workflow friction into a single interface. Adobe also announced Firefly Image Model 5, expanded Custom Models for enterprise brand consistency, and Project Graph — a node-based visual workflow system for wiring together AI models and Creative Cloud tools into reusable templates. The launch comes amid slowing revenue growth, a 43% stock decline, competitive pressure from Canva (260M MAUs) and Figma, and an incoming CEO transition as Shantanu Narayen prepares to step down after 18 years.
