JetBrains and Zed have launched the ACP Agent Registry, a centralized directory for discovering and installing AI coding agents directly within IDEs. The Agent Client Protocol (ACP) is an open standard similar to LSP that enables any AI coding agent to work in any supporting editor without vendor lock-in. The registry launches with agents including Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot, OpenCode, Mistral Vibe, and others, offering one-click installation in JetBrains IDEs 2025.3+. Developers can browse, install, and switch between agents based on their workflow needs, while agent builders can submit their ACP-compatible agents to reach millions of users across JetBrains and Zed.
