Avalonia UI is introducing a new licensing model for its professional tooling with the upcoming Accelerate release, while keeping the core framework MIT-licensed and free. A Community Edition will give 67% of current users free access to new tools including a rewritten Visual Studio extension, new Dev Tools app, and Parcel packaging tool. Enterprise users (organizations with 250+ users/PCs or €1M+ annual revenue) only need a paid license if they want the new professional tooling. Perpetual licenses are priced at €299 (Business) and €599 (Enterprise). A 6-month grace period is provided for Visual Studio users, and a 30-day free trial is available. The TreeDataGrid component is being forked commercially, with the original MIT-licensed version remaining on GitHub. A new free read-only 'Table' control is planned for v12 to fill the gap.
