Project IDX

A Year of Project IDX

I was disappointed to see that it is a clone of vscode with even less functionality.

Don’t like it. I don’t wanna give full pressure on my Browser.
Why should I use this IDX ?
just to use Gemini ! nope never.
if they could do something like “ZED” that would be mindblowing. or may be they can collab with Zed.

The two biggest problems are that it’s worse than vscode and run by Google. So it could be cancelled at anytime in the long list of Google cancelled projects.

Imagine working so hard making a web based IDE to solve vscode performance issue. Then only to discover zed…

Does anyone don’t want to mention it’s a copy of GitHub codespace with sprinkle of Gemini.
The only new thing is some Android development support like providing a virtual device maybe, I didn’t fully check what so they provide there. But that’s invite only for now
