A maker called Moeya 3D Designs has created a fully 3D printed replica of a rotary telephone dial, demonstrating the mechanical internals that once made these devices ubiquitous. The model includes a ratchet and spring mechanism, a gear train driving a cam for pulse generation, and a centrifugal speed governor — all faithfully reproduced in plastic. Two videos accompany the project: one showing the finished dial in action and another covering the design process.
