A Firefox addon for putting prices into perspective

Drew DeVault built a Firefox add-on called Price Perspective that contextualizes prices by comparing them relative to different people's incomes and purchasing power. Users input their location and annual income, then the extension shows how a given price would feel to someone in a developing country, a billionaire like Zuckerberg or Bezos, or anyone else. The examples highlight stark wealth inequality — e.g., a pizza that's trivial for a Western earner represents enormous labor for someone in Afghanistan, and a €6.5B overbid on an Amsterdam apartment would cost Zuckerberg proportionally what €5,000 costs the author.
