The fear of being replaced by AI is ongoing. Some days I’m convinced there’s no way AI could ever do my job. Other days, it writes a React component in minutes and I start wondering whether I should be learning a new profession—maybe something blue‑collar and less likely to be automated. But that day isn’t here yet, and until it arrives, I’ll keep moving forward.

For me, AI is a tool. I use it to generate boilerplate code, create starting points, or help with syntax. It’s useful for simple refactors and can be great for research. But through all of this, I’ve realized a few things: AI models love to sound confident, they tend to pile on extra layers of code, and they absolutely can hallucinate.
Recently, I was learning Mirror Networking for a Unity game, and I honestly wonder if the process would have gone more smoothly without AI’s help. More than once, I caught it giving me incorrect information, and when I called it out, it brushed past the mistake as if it never happened.
I know this is an old, overly discussed topic, but I guess it was my turn to write something about it.
