Cosmos DB Sidekick is a Chrome extension that lets you query and write to an Azure Cosmos DB emulator using plain English. Built with the GitHub Copilot SDK and the Cosmos DB JavaScript SDK, it uses a Node.js sidecar server that exposes tools (list databases, run queries, upsert documents) to an LLM. The model autonomously chains these tools to answer questions, generate SQL, and insert test data. The extension auto-detects the active database/container from the Data Explorer for context-aware queries, supports multi-turn persistent chat sessions, and streams responses token-by-token via SSE.
