Great cheatsheet. Did you consider adding the git rm commands? They are very useful if you start working on a project where the initial .gitignore did not specify all the types and folders that shouldn’t be committed to source control.
After fixing .gitignore, you will have to physically remove some files from the index. You can use the --cached option to remove from the index but leave in the filesystem.
