How does it compare with Drizzle ORM in term of performance?

As someone who works a lot with Prisma + Next.js, I actually like this direction. Removing the Rust engine feels risky on paper, but if the JS-only runtime really reduces overhead and improves DX—especially for edge deployments—that’s a big win.
That said, I’m cautiously optimistic. The 3× faster claim probably won’t hold for every workload, and real-world apps are messy. Still, smaller bundles, faster type generation, and easier tooling are huge quality-of-life improvements. Overall: good move, but benchmarks in production will be the real judge.
