I moved to Go since 2020 after 7 years with PHP and now have to drop Go for PHP job because in my location (Hanoi) Go is thinning out. Lower salary but I realize that PHP is much more fun with Laravel ecosystem and PHP 8.x. I also think it doesn’t matter what language, it more about the market that we’re focusing on. For me I moved from US/Australia to Japan so PHP still good, just not have high salary as we expects. Personally, I think PHP still good for at least 5 years from now on.

PHP may have lost its charm because it still gives the impression of being a technology from the last decade, but it still persists due to the numerous legacy projects that will still be online for several more years.
Another point that may contribute to the devaluation of the technology is perhaps due to the continued focus or shift in focus to AI-oriented technologies, and PHP is not a language that directly benefits from the AI ​​hype.
