Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is committing fully to Netplan for network configuration. Netplan is a network configuration manager for Linux systems, described via YAML files. Canonical plans to polish the Netplan codebase and deliver a Netplan 1.0 release with API/ABI stability. Debian has also decided to go with Netplan for their network stack on Debian Cloud images.
