Most software engineers choose Linux over Windows for programming. I was a big fan of Windows OS, and have been using it for years. Since I started programming I found that a Linux distro (such as Ubuntu, Manjaro, and Arch) is the best Operating System to start with.

Great article, but I tend to disagree these days. Microsoft is doing an outstanding job with WSL2 and providing the best of both worlds. Linux used to be my daily driver, Ubuntu or Arch or one of the many derivatives, but it became more and more of a battle to use. 
Yes, gaming works, but only just, and don’t expect AAA titles on day one. Video editing is hit and miss, and you can forget big name brands providing apps to run on Linux, no Adobe, No Corel etc. Now I know there are guys and gals out there who will say you can use open-source free software alternatives. But why should I compromise when I can get a great development environment on Windows using WSL2 and still have access to my AAA games / applications.

I’m perfectly happy using Windows with the WSL Subsystem. Best of both worlds for me

I think the biggest advantage is that Linux is more stable than Windows, often Windows gets broken with updates and has the major security breaches.
