8 Agentic AI patterns reshaping team collaboration

A UX researcher at GitLab synthesized 17 agentic AI platforms to identify eight capability patterns that support human team collaboration alongside AI. The patterns range from proactive status updates, intelligent work routing, and communication facilitation to governance controls like RBAC, managed promotion pipelines, and collaborative agent-building. Three core outcomes emerge: moving faster, working smarter, and staying in control. The study finds that leading platforms embed agents into existing workflows rather than bolting them on externally, and that end-to-end governance remains the rarest capability.
