I think there are way better reasons. GraalVM makes it much faster and smaller. Loom provides a level of scale that will outperform anything while keeping the “simple” synchronous model. Valhalla will solve the stack object performance issue in an elegant way and Java 17+ has many great features.

People hate on Java because they used JDK 1.6 in University or their first job. They don’t get that it moved so much further in the past 12 releases.

If Spring is on the list of “great” things about Java, I’d hate to see the “bad” list. Spring is an awful framework, requiring constant security patching and maintenance, along with complex attribute use that forces you to work in the most complex ways possible to achieve simple solutions - and it’s resource use is insane.
