I don’t want to step on toes, but I definitely recommend enabling WSL and getting your hands dirty with the ultimate open source OS.
Otherwise, I also recommend getting proxmox or some other hypervisor and installing different OSs to familiarize yourself with their idiosyncrasies. I don’t think this will necessarily have the same value to everyone, but it’s nerdy, fun, and can inspire fun homelab projects to make you more well rounded.
