Clerk has released two major updates: Clerk Core 3 and a revised pricing plan. Core 3 brings improved customization APIs for custom auth flows, a new theme editor with interactive docs for built-in components, and support for modern React features like transitions, suspense, and streaming, including Next.js 16 cache component support. The pricing update raises the free tier limit from 10,000 to 50,000 retained users and introduces unlimited applications on every paid plan, meaning developers no longer pay per app. Most authentication add-ons are now bundled into the pro plan, with only billing, B2B, and administrative features remaining as add-ons. Automated migration to the new pricing is scheduled for April.
