30 Bad Websites with Terrible Web Designs

First of: Funny article.
Then, the title claims “Bad Websites” with “Bad Web Design”. But it only references lack of creativity and sometimes a few tiny design decisions, but mostly creativity, which is not design.
These are all very unprofessional and very personal opinions. Craigslist for example is what you technically call perfect webdesign. It’s not about CrEaTiViTy but about getting your content across. And Craigslist does that. Or as Erik Spiekermann once said “Communication should communicate, not be creative.” And Webdesign is communication craft, not arts craft.
The rest are basically mediocre websites that are okay-ish, but personally “not beautiful” to the author. Starting off right with a art website thats meant to break norms of creativity. You can even see by the favicon that it’s rather a quirky joke than honest design. Creativity = Art. Design =/= Art. Choose one.
Though, the obvious cluttered early 90s websites listed surely are both. Uncreative and bad design. And to be fair, the website of Sage is rather mid itself. Classic 0815 Wordpress with too much whitespace, spacing and the header isn’t even accessible.

I disagree with a few of these websites having terrible designs. It is also worth noting that this is from a web design agency likely as a means to push their services. I don’t think their own portfolio example isn’t much better plus they are just peddling Wordpress.
