Europol has revealed the first results of Project Compass, an international law enforcement operation launched in January 2025 targeting 'The Com,' a loose collective of English-speaking cybercriminals aged 13–25. The operation has led to 30 arrests and the identification of 179 members across 28 participating countries. The Com encompasses sub-groups like Scattered Spider and 764, engaging in ransomware attacks, child exploitation, extortion, and violent extremism. Despite prior arrests in 2024, The Com's activity showed no signs of slowing, with sub-groups continuing high-profile attacks into 2025.
