2026 Will Make or Break Rust

I mean, it’s not exact showered itself in glory during the Ubuntu’s forced switch to Rust CoreUtils. Loads of the utils were riddled with bugs and some an incredible amount slower than what they replaced.
It perfectly demonstrated the issue with Rust ports, just because Rust can mitigate memory bugs doesn’t mean that it can fix logic bugs and the solutions they’re replacing are long term battle tested for logic flaws.
The problem with Rust is the people that use it telling everyone else they must use it even for things that it makes no sense for.
