In April 1561, a broadsheet by Hans Glaser described a mass sighting of celestial phenomena or unidentified flying objects over Nuremberg. Witnesses reported seeing aerial battles involving various odd-shaped objects. While some suggest these were extraterrestrial spacecraft, skeptics believe the phenomena were natural, possibly atmospheric events. The event is preserved in a woodcut in the Zentralbibliothek Zürich and has been analyzed for its archetypal meanings by Carl Jung.
